Consultation

A consultation can be a one-off service or can form the first stage of the design service. We can give you plenty of ideas and practical suggestions for developing or renovating your garden easily. Examples of plans and reports are available.

Design
Assessment

If you would like a design prepared, we will take a design brief which will include a site inventory and analysis. This examines what you have in terms of existing site conditions, constraints and potential including lot and building dimensions, vegetation and soil types, climate, views, use and access, water, fire risk, style and stories.

The design brief then explores with you your requirements and resources covering what you would like from your outdoor spaces, including: your vision; relevant local and personal influence; parking, vehicle and foot traffic flows; outdoor eating and entertaining; shade and sun protection; plant preferences; the needs of children, animals, services; an area for vegetables and fruit growing; compost; and your resources in terms of available water and budget.

Landscape Plan

The landscape plan is the proposed architecture of the garden design. The plan is a beautifully hand drawn A1 size plan-view drawing and includes all outdoor areas and plant material. It is presented to you on-site and is accompanied by a detailed report to help you with installation.

Planting Details

If you do not need a full landscape plan, planting details can be separate. We can prepare for you a planting plan or report only.

Installation
Most clients prefer to engage their own landscape contractors directly or undertake the work themselves.

Planting preparation is as important as plant selection to the success of your garden. The preparation is crucial to establishing a low-water low-maintenance garden. We will go through these details with you so that you will then be in a better position to do the work yourself, or engage and supervise contractors.
